Toronto FC wins first Reserve match of 2008

Toronto FC reserves beat New York Red Bulls reserves 2-1 at BMO Field on Friday morning. Joey Melo opened the scoring with a free kick in the 7th minute. Kevin Harmse added a second goal for TFC in the 19th minute. New York pulled a goal back in the 25th minute with a free kick from Sinisa Ubiparipovic. Julius James and Olivier Tebily again formed the pairing in the centre of defense. Former TFC players Andy Boyens and Tyler Hemming were in the New York team.

The win was the first of the season for the TFC reserve team after they opened with a 3-2 defeat against Kansas City Wizards last weekend.
