Amado Guevara is loving life with Toronto FC. The former MLS MVP made his debut in the 3-2 win at LA Galaxy last weekend, and has been training with the team at BMO Field this week in preparation for Saturday's home opener against Real Salt Lake, kick off 12:30 p.m. live on CBC. Guevara told torontofc.ca he has been made to feel welcome in Toronto. "I am really happy. I have been received very well by my team and by everyone who works in the front office. Everyone has made it so easy to adapt and I already feel very much at home. I couldn't have wished for a better welcome."

The Honduran international captain has been impressed with the standard of the TFC squad. "We have some very talented players. There are some great players in this league, but I think we can beat any team. I want to win on the field and expect that everyone else wants the same. I want to work as part of a team and for us all to work together as a group and keep improving so that we can be as good as we can be."

In the past, the midfielder has been tagged with a reputation of being difficult to work with but he believes he has mellowed throughout the years. "With experience you learn to control your emotions. It is more difficult to do that when you are younger. I am still the same player and I still have the same personality but now I know how to control myself."

Guevara wants to improve his English but doesn't think he will need to take lessons. "I will get all the lessons I need inside the locker room," he said. "I am sure my teammates will help me learn the language. I want to improve my English because I need to communicate with the team."
