Attendance was about 100 people on this very hot and humid afternoon with the threat of rain being realized from the 7th minute and got very severe from 9 minutes onwards. It stopped at 24 minutes. An earlier rain in the day already made the real grass field quite slippery.
Lynx had enough chances to put this team away early but only scored the one goal. At 38 minutes, Chris DeAbreu’s cornerkick from left had Damion Scott end up heading a 3 yarder that a defender at the 1 yard kept out with a header.
Chaos almost started their comeback earlier when Matthew Clare’s 25 yard blast from the right hit the top of the bar on a deflection.
Rudolf also game out matching Yellow cards to Lynx Anthony Badahur and Chaos Vinny Crumrine at 95 minutes for a pushing incident near the center circle.
Last chance for the Lynx was a 20 yard freekick at 99 minutes when Chris Mitchell floated in a high one from the right edge of the box and a Lynx player tip header through and out the left side.
The Lynx will regret to let this one get away. They had lost to Indiana Invaders on Friday night to end their four game road trip. The Chaos had not won a game this year and Lynx had beaten them on the road a week ago. Lynx record falls to 4-2-2. With division rivals Michigan Bucks starting with an 8-0-0 record, they should lock up one of the playoff spots and the Lynx will have to hold off Cleveland Internationals who they play in their next home game on July 1st at Brian Timmis Stadium in Hamilton at 4:00pm.
