Attak signs defender Boivin
2008-02-06
Trois-Rivieres Attak finished its inaugural 2007 CSL season with a highly satisfactory 10-4-8 WLT record to finish runner-up in the National Division, the Quebec team won the Open Canada Cup and was judged to have the best discipline record to win the CSL’s Fair Play Award
It’s not surprising, therefore, that the team is moving quickly to secure the signatures of a number of players not under contract for 2008 and one of the first to be signed is defender Francois Boivin who started last season with the Trois Rivieres Select to be called up by head coach Marc Dos Santos half way through the 2007 campaign.
Boivin scored twice in the Open Canada Cup and so impressed Dos Santos that the defender was soon earmarked for an Attak starting position in 2008.
The Attak, the reserve team of the USL’s Montreal Impact, have also signed forward Pierre-Rudolph Mayard and the club has announced that last year’s team captain, midfielder Boubacar Coulibaly, will not be returning.
