Attendance was another sell out but there were a few empty spots which I've noticed whenever there's a mid-week game. It was 25% empty at the very start of the game but did fill in by halftime. I wouldn't be surprised if next year, these games will start at 7:30 or 8:00pm.
Srdjan Djekanovic was once again the TFC goalie tonight with Sam Reynolds on loan from Chivas USA through the MLS program as the backup. Greg Sutton is training with Canada's national team for the Gold Cup. Defenders Adam Braz was down there too and Chris Pozniak will be on his way after tonight's game ended to play in that tournament.
Angel celebrated the winning goal with other Red Bulls players near the west sideline and were doused with cups of beer. This was not anywhere where Eddie Johnson got sprayed in the end zone at the home opener. One of the Red Bulls players picked up a cup and threw it back at the fans.
The man of the match was announced as Jeff Cunningham. It appears that there will never be a visiting player named as player of the game.
There were seagulls everywhere flying around during the early part of the game. I'd expect they'd be here after the people left and they could eat the food scraps left behind. The stadium is built near the same place as old Exhibition Stadium which had Blue Jays player Dave Winfield once kill a seagull by hitting it with a baseball.
Purolator donated 500 lbs of food for cornerkick by either team. There was a stretch in the second half where Red Bulls had four of them in a few minutes as they applied the pressure to Toronto. Tonight was a collection for the food drive as fans were encouraged to donate cans of food.
