FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Wells Thompson's goal in the 85th minute gave the New England Revolution Reserves a 3-2 victory over the Toronto FC Reserves Sunday morning at Gillette Stadium in rainy, raw weather after the Revs twice battled back from one-goal deficits.

Toronto's Andrea Lombardo put the visitors ahead, 1-0, in the seventh minute, first-timing a Cristian Nunez pass from the endline as he ran into the penalty area behind the play. Toronto took the one-goal lead into halftime, but the Revs' Miguel Gonzalez tied the score in the 52nd minute with his first reserve goal of the season. Willie Sims' cross from the right was intercepted by TFC goalkeeper Tomer Chencinski, but he dropped the wet ball, allowing Gonzalez room to shoot into an open goal.

Nine minutes later in the 61st minute, Toronto again took a one-goal lead, pushing the score to 2-1 when Lombardo scored his second goal of the game, an unassisted strike to the far post from 12 yards out past the outstretched arms of Revs keeper Doug Warren.

Sims leveled the score for the Revs in the 65th minute off a corner kick, tying the game at 2-2. Ryan Solle's service from the right side met Sims at the far post, where he rose over his defender and headed in his first reserve goal of the year from eight yards out.

Thompson then put the Revolution ahead for good in the 85th minute, sending the rebound of a Chris Loftus shot past Chencincki for the game-winning goal.

The Revolution Reserves (1-0-0, 3 pts.) earned their first win of the 2007 season, and completed the weekend sweep of Toronto FC (0-1-1, 1 pt.) after the first team defeated the first-year MLS side, 4-0, on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium.

The Revolution returns to action on Thursday, April 19, when they travel to face the Columbus Crew at 7 p.m. ET in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The Revolution Reserves are next scheduled to face the Chicago Fire Reserves on Sunday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the first-team game at Gillette Stadium.
