BRADENTON, FLA.. — Toronto FC defeated Notre Dame 3-0 Wednesday morning in an exhibition game at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Alecko Eskandarian scored early in the game from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the area.

Goalkeeper Greg Sutton was not tested in the first half, and at the interval it was a 1-0 lead for Toronto.

Jose Cancela picked out the top corner from his free-kick in the 54th minute to go ahead 2-0.

About four minutes later, Paulo Nagamura scored the third goal.

Toronto FC has several players with ailments, mostly minor.

Not playing Wednesday were Carl Robinson (ankle), Conor Casey (quadriceps) Marco Reda (quadriceps), Jamaal Smith (ankle), Richard Asante (heat exhaustion), Maurice Edu (pelvis), Ronnie O'Brien (knee), and Abbe Ibrahim (hip flexor).

Toronto native David Guzman arrived at camp for a trial. Guzman played for the University of Louisville.
