Toronto FC adds two

With the signing of American striker Conor Casey, who has played three times for the U.S., and the acquisition via the MLS waiver draft of 30-year-old, 5-foot-10 goalkeeper Jon Busch yesterday, Toronto FC has 16 players under contract as it opens the second leg of spring training in Bradenton, Fla., until March 17.

Eighteen players will make the opening-day roster.

The players signed so far are:

Defenders – Andrew Boyens, Adam Braz, Chris Pozniak and Marco Reda.

Midfielders – Richard Asante, Jim Brennan, Maurice Edu, Paulo Nagamura, Ronnie O'Brien, Carl Robinson.

Forwards – Edson Buddle, Conor Casey, Alecko Eskandarian.

Goalkeepers – Greg Sutton, Jon Busch.

Several players remain in training camp without contracts:

Defenders – Gabe Gala and Stephen Lumley.

Midfielder – AJ Gray.

Forwards – Abbe Ibrahim and Andrea Lombardo.

Goalkeeper – Tomer Chencinski.
