5 min...FWF Bauer given long ball to edge of box but can't control the ball and it's headed wide left.
6 min…Lynx Chris DeAbreu GOAL…A Lynx player crosses along the right end line. DeAbreu boots in 7 yarder through crowd of players including a Lynx player who’d ran into net and wisely stayed in the net to avoid an offside call. Fever goalie Josh Howell couldn’t stop the play.
7 min...FWF Robinson has defender clear ball off him. Lynx goalie then punches ball out of box when FWF player takes 15 yard shot.
9 min...Lynx Stedmond controls ball in FWF box, turns and fires 12 yard shot wide right.
10 min...FWF Robinson cross along left line and Lynx defender heads ball for cornerkick.

47 min...Lynx Revivo cross blocked for cornerkick from 15 yards by sliding defender.
48 min...Lynx Medwin cornerkick from left has defender pop header backwards but another defender heads it off line. Lynx McNamara heads 8 yarder that goalie catches just under bar.

90 min...FWF Bauer injured at Lynx 45 yard line and needs to be helped off field.
90 min...FWF Darvich ends pressure with 15 yard shot deflected for cornerkick.
91 min...Lynx Roberts after rush on left has 22 yard shot deflected wide right.
91 min...FWF Bauer has hand ball deflection but shot is blocked and defenders block rebounds.

Attendance was about 300 on this warm afternoon.

The win was partial revenge for the Fever’s win here on Friday night. The Lynx outplayed the Fever in today’s game in the first half but were forced to play very defensively in the second half once they were down a man. They mostly had only one forward up field and relied on the long ball. Fever had some heart stopping moments near the end with the Lynx defenders blocking shots inside and on the edge of their box. Goalie Chris Baker earned the shutout for the Lynx. He cemented his place as the starter for the team but the Lynx finally have signed a back-up in Stuart Ayres.

Some other things different about this game was the scoreboard was very dim so I used wristwatch time to calculate when things happened. Also about 15 to 20 of the Ultras showed up for the game for the first time this year. They’ve all moved on to follow the MLS Toronto FC team. It was too bad that this game was so dull (mostly caused by the Lynx being shorthanded) following except for Friday’s game, the Lynx prior two games scoring five goals in each of those games.

Before the game as part of their home finale on “Fan Appreciation Day” team awards were presented to Lynx players. The Public Relations Award for community service was given to Justin Hay who we didn’t see play all season because of an injury. (Actually he wasn’t there today to pick up his award so I still don’t know what he looks like. Defensive player was awarded to Erik DiLorenzo (yep he was Red carded today). Offensive player was Murphy Wiredu who leads the team with 7 goals. Fan Favourite was Jamie Fairweather who was out injured for a long portion of the season. The MVP was awarded to Alex Ruhe Lischke who couldn’t play today because of the Red card he picked up in Friday’s game. That award was presented by some guy named Robin Glover.

I did an interview with head coach Duncan Wilde after the game about his thoughts on the Lynx first year in the PDL.
