ATTAK'S INAUGURAL YEAR BID FOR CSL DOUBLE
Monday - October 15, 2007
Semi-finals announced

Venues for the two semifinal games leading to the CSL Championship have been announced by the Canadian Soccer League for this coming weekend, October 21 and 22.

St. Catharines Wolves will meet Toronto Croatia at Esther Shiner Stadium on Saturday afternoon, a 4 p.m. kickoff and Serbian White Eagles will clash with Trois-Rivieres Attak on the same ground the following day, a 5 p.m. start.

St. Catharines won the National Division and defeated Canadian Lions in the quarterfinal first stage of the playoffs on Sunday, a penalty kick win following 120 minutes of scoreless soccer, while opposition Toronto Croatia lost just one game all season, then came from a 2-0 first half deficit to beat North York Astros 4-2 in the quarterfinals.

Serbian White Eagles wracked up more points than any other CSL team, a total of 45 to win the International Division, while opposition Trois-Rivieres Attak have already won the Open Canada Cup and are making a strong bid to take the other half of the CSL double in their inaugural year.

Serbia advanced with a 2-1 win over Windsor Border Stars on Sunday while the Attak knocked out last year’s CSL champions Italia Shooters, a 3-0 result at Trois-Rivieres on Saturday afternoon.
