ST. CATHARINES END HOME SCHEDULE ON WINNING NOTE

Wolves blank London 4-0

St. Catharines Wolves ended its regular season home schedule with a 4-0 victory over London City at Club Roma in St. Catharines Wednesday night, to take an impressive eight point lead over their nearest rivals in the CSL’s National Division.

St. Catharines forward Marc Morrency opened the scoring at the 28th minute mark, his first of two goals with his second coming at 80 minutes. Striker Carlo Arghittu beat London ‘keeper Mike Frost at 46 minutes for the Wolves’ second goal of the game and midfielder Rudy Pikuzinsky scored the home side’s other goal at 78 minutes.

St. Catharines have played 20 games in the CSL’s five-month long campaign and the Garden City side has two regular season games remaining before the playoffs mid- October. They visit Windsor to play the Border Stars on September 22 and they end the regular season at London City on October 5.

The National Division leaders have a 10-4-6 WLT record for 36 points, eight points clear of Trois-Rivieres Attak. London City have a 3-12-2 record for 11 points following Wednesday’s game.
