APPRECIATION NIGHT THRILLER
Saturday - June 23, 2007
Scoreless tie at Windsor

While neither team found the net, there was an abundance of excitement in the end-to-end encounter that ended in a scoreless tie between Windsor Border Stars and Portuguese Supra at Windsor Stadium, the only game in the CSL Saturday.

It was the Lasalle Stompers Appreciation Night and the large crowd appreciated the goalkeeping of Windsor’s Anthony Santilli and his Portuguese counterpart Michael Silva who time and again kept the opposition off the scoresheet.

Windsor striker Aaron Byrd was prominent upfront time and again and Jeff Hodgson of the home team also threatened, while Michael Aigbokie had the best chance to win it all for Portuguese Supra, but sent his shot just over the bar.

The tie gives Windsor a 3-4-1 WLT record, tied for top place with St. Catharines Wolves in the National Conference with 10 points, while Portuguese Supra are fourth in the International Conference with a 1-4-3 record and six points.
