LONDON CITY HELD AT HOME BY CROATIA
Friday - June 1, 2007
Eagles edge Lions 2-1

Forward Dragan Radovic struck a second half winner in a 2-1 home victory for Serbian White Eagles over Canadian Lions at Centennial Stadium, while London City were held to a 1-1 tie by visiting Toronto Croatia in CSL action Friday night.

The goal by Radovic came with just 10 minutes remaining in an entertaining encounter that saw a quick Lions team hold Eagles to a 1-1 tie at the interval on goals by Sasa Viciknez of Serbia at the 7th minute mark and Lions’ forward Evan Milward 15 minutes later.

Milward scored into an empty net when Eagles’ former Belgium First Division goalkeeper Dusan Belic lost the ball to the Lions’ scorer while attempting to dribble his way clear of his goal.

Serbian White Eagles are setting a winning early season pattern with a 3-0-0 WLT record while the Canadian team are at 0-3-1.

Gentjan Buzali opened the scoring for London City at The Cove in London to take a 1-0 lead at the 20 minute mark and former Brampton player Hugo Herrera tied the game for Croatia eight minutes later.

The visiting side came close just before the equalizer when Hayden Fitwilliams struck the bar four minutes before the equalizer.

London City are at 0-1-1 and Toronto Croatia at 1-0-2 following early season games and Croatia moves to Windsor for a game with the Border Stars on Saturday.
