Miami FC ties 2-2 against Toronto Lynx - 06/16/2006
June 15, 2006- Miami, FL- Miami FC came out strong and focused to capture another three points in the USL First Division against Toronto Lynx. In the eight minute, Romario beautifully placed the ball in the back of the net off an assist by Sean Fraser to give Miami FC a 1-0 lead early in the game. This is Romario’s sixth goal for Miami FC and he continues to be the leading scorer in the USL.
Soon after in the 12th minute Mario Rodriguez received a pass from Walsh and beat the defender for a 1 on 1 with the Lynx goalkeeper, and calmly earned Miami FC another point to make it 2-0.
However, the Lynx did not let up and answered back with two goals before the end of the first half to tie up the game 2-2.
Late in the first half, Miami FC had a close call when Romario scored a goal, but a few seconds later it was called offside, a similar incident that happened in the second half as well. From then on, Miami tried by any means possible to score the third goal, but Toronto, led by their goalkeeper Richard Goddard wouldn’t allow it.
Miami FC faces the USL champion Seattle Sounders, next Sunday, June 15, at 5:00 PM at Tropical Park Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Soccer Channel.
Miami FC empato 2-2 contra Toronto Lynx
Miami FC salio fuerte y enfocado en lograr otros tres puntos en la Primera División de la USL contra los Toronto Lynx. En el minuto 8 del partido Romario puso un balón el fondo de la red tras un remate errado de Sean Fraser para el 1-0 a favor de los del Sur de la Florida. El sexto gol del brasileño en la liga que lo mantiene en el tope de la tabla de posiciones.
Unos minutos mas tarde, al 12, Mario Rodríguez recibió un pase de Diego Walsh que lo dejo 1 a 1 con el portero del Lynx, y tranquilamente lo batió para el 2 a 0 que daba tranquilidad a Miami.
Sin embargo, el Lynx no bajo los brazos, y en el mismo primer tiempo encontró 2 goles que los llevo al descanso empatados.
En el segundo tiempo, a Miami FC le anularon un gol, por considerar el árbitro que Romario estaba fuera de lugar, al igual que en la primera parte que le había anulado un gol por el mismo motivo. De allí en adelante Miami trato de conseguir el tercer gol por cualquier forma posible, pero el conjunto canadiense, liderado por el arquero Richard Goddard no cedió.
Miami FC enfrenta al campeón de la USL, Seattle Sounders, el domingo a las 5:00 PM en el Estadio Tropical Park. El partido será transmitido en vivo por FOX Soccer Channel.
