ST. CATHARINES STRUGGLE AT HOME
Wednesday - June 21, 2006
Wolves, Supra tie 1-1

St. Catharines Wolves continue to struggle and unable to score a home victory, ending with a 1-1 tie against visiting Toronto Supra Portuguese at Club Roma in St. Catharines Wednesday. St. Catharines won their opener at London on June 2 and have lost one and tied three games since.

Supra Portuguese, which registered its fourth tie and the only CSL team without a win in the current league campaign, went ahead when Varem Castro found the net following a cross from the left wing at the 41st minute mark.

Zeljko Dukic tied the game for Wolves at 67 minutes, the ball finding the net after a goalmouth scramble following a corner kick and despite some promising raids on the home team’s goal, St. Catharines’ goalkeeper Claudio Perri was the main reason for the score holding at 1-1 until the final whistle.

St. Catharines travel to Oakville for a game with the Blue Devils on Sunday, a 5 pm kickoff at Bronte Stadium, while Toronto Supra Portuguese will seek their first league win in a game against Toronto Croatia on July 7 at Memorial Park.
