WEATHER KNOCKS OUT CARIBBEAN vs. SERBIAN EAGLES

A free kick by St. Catharines Wolves' defender Danny Gallagher at the 26th minute mark found its way through the London City defence and into the net to give the Garden City team a 1-0 away win at the Cove Road ground in London Friday night.

It was the first game of the Canadian Soccer League season for the winners, and the second game for London following the scoreless tie with Border Stars on May 20. The game was an entertaining end-to-end encounter that saw two penalty kicks awarded by referee Amato De Luca.

Wolves 'keeper Caudio Perri stopped a spot kick by City's Eris Tafaj, while London City goalkeeper Haidar Al-Shaibani saved the penalty kick taken by Ashley McMillan.

London City travel to Esther Shiner Stadium in North York Sunday for a game with the Astros, a 7 pm kickoff, while St. Catharines will be at home to Toronto Croatia next Wednesday, that's an 8.15 pm start.

The Caribbean Selects vs. Serbian White Eagles all-International Division clash scheduled for Lamport Stadium on Saturday was postponed by Referee Raymond just before the 7 pm kickoff due to a waterlogged surface.

Italia Shooters are at home to Toronto Portuguese Supra at The Soccer Centre on Sunday, that game goes at 7 and last year's league champions Oakville Blue Devils are at home to Brampton Stallions at Bronte Stadium a 5 pm kickoff, also on Sunday.
