IMPACT 1 TORONTO 0

TORONTO, May 15, 2005 - The Montreal Impact (3-0-2) remained undefeated in five games this season beating the Toronto Lynx 1-0 (0-5-2), Sunday, at Centennial Stadium in Toronto.

Impact forward Kevin Wilson scored the only goal of the game, his third of the season, at the 50th minute, on a centering pass from Mauro Biello. Well-positioned in the 18-yard box at the right of Lynx goalkeeper Theo Zagar, Biello had ample time to center the ball to Wilson, who headed the ball in an open net. It was Biello's third assist this season.

Montreal Impact goalkeeper Greg Sutton imposed himself early in the game with a spectacular save on Lynx striker Ali Gerba, at the 10th minute of play. While he was down on the ground, Sutton blocked a hard shot from Gerba, from the top of the 18-yard box.

Less than a minute later, forward Kevin Wilson had the Impact's best scoring chance of the first half. After receiving a through ball from midfielder Patrick Leduc, Wilson went in alone on the goalkeeper but his low shot was stopped by Zagar.

Impact goalkeeper Greg Sutton was solid throughout the match, making four aves on seven shots, and recording his fourth shutout of the season.

Defender Nevio Pizzolitto left the game at the 36th minute and was substituted by Adrian Cann, after receiving a knee to the head.

The Impact will play its next game Saturday, May 21, at Frontier Field, against the Rochester Raging Rhnios (7:35 pm, CKAC, CJAD).

COMMENTS
Head coach Nick De Santis : "Again today, we were very disciplined defensively. We won almost every battle for the ball. In the first half we did not have a lot of scoring chances but in the second half we played along the wings and used all spaces on the field, which created more chances to score. Also, it's always great when your goalkeeper can make the big saves to keep your team in the game."

Gabriel Gervais: "It was another typical game on the road for us. We did not give many chances to score. There is no secret, it's hard to play against us. We work hard and we are not giving any chances to our opponents. It was question of time before we scored a goal."
