TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Thursday the 2005 W-League All-League Team, recognizing 11 of the best players in the W-League for the past season as voted on by team coaches and general managers.

The New Jersey Wildcats and Charlotte Lady Eagles saw multiple players represented on the All-League team with three for the Wildcats and two for the Lady Eagles. Also represented were the Atlanta Silverbacks, Detroit Jaguars, London Gryphons, Mile High Mustangs, Ottawa Fury and Toronto Lady Lynx.

The W-League Championship will be determined this weekend when the Central Florida Krush, Ottawa Fury and Vancouver Whitecaps join the host New Jersey Wildcats in Trenton, NJ. The semifinals are Friday with the championship live on Fox Soccer Channel Sunday, August 7 at 7:00 pm ET.

Goalkeeper – Karina LeBlanc (New Jersey Wildcats)
LeBlanc finished the season as the Goalkeeper of the Year with an incredible 0.10 goals against average, allowing just one goal in 901 minutes of action this season. The Canadian international has played more games in goal for Canada than any other goalkeeper with 44 caps. She recorded six shutouts this season for the Wildcats and has 17 in her career on the international level.

Defender – Angela Donato (London Gryphons)
Donato helped lead the expansion side to a surprising 8-4-2 campaign that ended just one point shy of second in the Midwest Division and a playoff berth. The Gryphons handed division champion Detroit two of its three losses with Donato in the back line for both and scoring her lone goal of the season in their 3-0 win at home. Donato played in all 14 games for 1,184 minutes.

Defender – Keeley Dowling (Charlotte Lady Eagles)
Playing in arguably the most competitive division in the league, the Lady Eagles finished with an 11-2-1 mark on the season and allowed just 11 goals, fourth lowest in the league. The US youth international has played in eight games for the U-21 National Team. Dowling had one assist on the season, playing in all 14 games for 1,280 minutes.

Defender – Cat Reddick (New Jersey Wildcats)
Despite a busy schedule that included six matches with the US Women’s National Team, Reddick left an impression in her nine games this season with New Jersey, tallying three goals and two assists. She anchored a defense that allowed just two goals on the season and just one with her in the lineup.

Midfielder – Katie Antongiovanni (Mile High Mustangs)
The former WUSA player led the Western Conference in points (26) and goals (12) this season, ranking sixth in the league in both categories, but more importantly led her Mustangs side to its first winning campaign in the club’s five-year history at 10-4-0, missing second place and the postseason by one point. Antongiovanni was an All-Conference selection last season after registering six goals and two assists. She was a member of the San Jose CyberRays in 2003 with a goal and assist in 11 games played.

Midfielder – Kelly Parker (Ottawa Fury)
The 2004 W-League MVP finished in the top three in scoring for the third straight year with 37 points and 14 goals, both second in the league. She also finished third in assists this season with nine. Parker has a three-year total of 35 goals and 24 assists. She has helped lead the Fury to three straight semifinal appearances with the club boasting a three-year mark of 37-4-1 in the regular season. She has one cap with the Canadian National Team. Parker is the only player to return from the 2004 All-League Team selections.

Midfielder – Melissa Tancredi (Atlanta Silverbacks)
Playing for her second expansion team in a row, the Canadian international helped lead the Silverbacks to a third-place 8-5-1 record in the Mid Atlantic Division with five goals and two assists in 10 games. Tancredi joined the team after leading the expansion Detroit Jaguars to a similar finish last season (third, 8-5-0) with two goals and two assists in 10 games. She has nine caps with the Canadian National Team.

Midfielder – Kacey White (New Jersey Wildcats)
With their numerous international stars in and out of the lineup, the one constant in New Jersey was one of three players on the team to see action in all 14 games (Kate Sands, Beth McNamara). She registered five goals on the season but finished in a tie for the league lead in assists with Ottawa’s Rhian Wilkinson with 12 on the campaign. The US youth international has played in eight games for the U-21 National Team.

Forward – Melissa Dobbyn (Detroit Jaguars)
A complete unknown, Dobbyn filled the shoes of the departed Melissa Tancredi (Atlanta) quite well, tallying 13 goals and three assists while leading the second-year club to an 11-3-0 record and the Midwest Division title. She finished fifth in the league in points and tied for fourth in goals.

Forward – Kim Warner (Toronto Lady Lynx)
Warner led the expansion Lady Lynx to an 11—3-0 record and second place in the Northern Division, winning the Goal Scoring Championship with 15 goals on the season in 12 games. She also had two assists to finish fourth in points with 32. It was her second season in the W-League having registered five goals and five assists in 12 games for the Toronto Inferno in 2003.

Forward – Kelly Schmedes (Charlotte Lady Eagles)
A team full of veteran players, Schmedes made quite an impact in her first season with the Lady Eagles, finishing the season with 11 goals and one assist to finish in a tie for the team lead in scoring (23 points) with Tina Murphy, who has led the team each of the past four years in that department. The US international has played four games for the National Team, but left her mark as a U-19 player with 31 goals in 19 games, leading the team to the 2002 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship. She also helped lead the US U-21 side to the 2004 Nordic Cup title.
