TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Wednesday the 2005 W-League All-Conference Teams, recognizing 33 of the best players in the W-League for the past season as voted on by team coaches and general managers.

The semifinalists for this weekend’s W-League Championship tournament in Trenton, NJ features 13 players on the All-Conference squads. The New Jersey Wildcats and Vancouver Whitecaps, the 2004 finalists, boast four players each with the Ottawa Fury seeing three players recognized and Central Florida Krush two.

Goalkeeper of the Year and Canadian international Karina LeBlanc of the Wildcats is joined by teammates US internationals Cat Reddick, defender, and Heather O’Reilly, forward, as well as US youth international Kacey White, midfielder. LeBlanc, Reddick and O’Reilly have played a combined 160 games for Canada and the US.

A trio of Canadian internationals were honored from the regular season champion Fury. Defender Linda Consolante and midfielders Diana Matheson and Kelly Parker were named to the Eastern Conference list. The trio have played a combined 37 games for Canada.

Players were also honored from the Toronto Lady Lynx (2), Boston Renegades (1) and Vermont Voltage (1) on the Eastern Conference Team.

The defending champion Whitecaps had a player from each position selected with goalkeeper Sian Bagshawe, defender Randee Hermus, midfielder Andrea Neil and forward Amber Allen honored. Hermus, Neil and Allen have played a combined 183 games for Canada.

The Arizona Heatwave and Mile High Mustangs each had three players recognized. US International Amy LePeilbet, defender, was joined by midfielder Mallory Miller and forward Julie Williford from Arizona. Former WUSA player Katie Antongiovanni of the Mustangs was joined by defender Kristin Warren and forward Ymara Guante. Seattle Sounders defender Shannon Forslund was also recognized on the Western Conference Team.

Central Florida’s US international duo of defender Heather Mitts and Danielle Fotopoulos were recognized in the Central Conference. The pair have played a combined 70 games for the US.

The Central Conference Team was the most diverse with seven different clubs represented. Players from the Atlanta Silverbacks (2), Charlotte Lady Eagles (2), Detroit Jaguars (2), Bradenton Athletics (1), Fort Wayne Fever (1) and London Gryphons (1) were honored.

The All-League Team will be announced Thursday with the Defender of the Year, U19 Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Most Valuable Player awards to be announced Saturday.

The W-League Championship will be determined this weekend when the Central Florida Krush, Ottawa Fury and Vancouver Whitecaps join the host New Jersey Wildcats in Trenton, NJ. The semifinals are Friday with the championship live on Fox Soccer Channel Sunday, August 7 at 7:00 pm ET.
