Match Summary:

The Toronto Lady Lynx added another win to their 2005 W-League campaign tonight, defeating the Vermont Lady Voltage 3-0 in Vermont.

The first half belonged to both goalkepers. Kristin Luckenbill of Vermont and Anne Ogundale of Toronto kept the first 45 minutes scoreless. Both teams exchanged scoring opportunities throughouut the first interval, but failed to beat the 'keepers.

The second half seemed to be an entirely different proposition, and Toronto went ahead in the 52nd minute.

Kim Warner picked up the ball in midfield and made an impressive run towards goal before shooting past an oncoming Luckenbill.

Kim Warner was on target again in the 63rd minute. Warner picked up Michelle Barr's attempted pass to Luckenbill and used her quick pace to outrun Barr before shoooting past Luckenbill.

Toronto added on more in the 73rd minute. Julia Ralph's chip beat Luckenbill and landed in the back of the net, making it 3-0. 3-0 was the final score as full time sounded.

Kim Warner was impressive this evening, scoring two goals in 11 minutes. Anne Ogundale was outstanding in goal, making 11 saves en route to her first shutout this season.

Tonight's match was marked by offensive undertones, and featured a total of 37 shots and 21 saves. A total of only 15 fouls were registered between both teams through 90 minutes.

Tonight's win leaves the Lady Lynx 8-2-0, and keeps them in first place in the W-League's Eastern Conference Northern Division. Tonight's victory came after Toronto lost its last two games. Vermont is 5-7-0 after tonight's match.

The Toronto Lady Lynx are next in action at home on Thursday July 7th when they face the Sudbury Canadians at 7:30 PM.

Notes: Toronto entered this evening's match with a record of 7-2-0 and first place in the W-League's Eastern Conference Northern Division. Toronto's last two games had ended in defeat. Vermont was 5-6-0 and sat in third place. Toronto and Vermont had already played eachother twice this season, with Toronto winning both times at Centennial Park Stadium.
