Match Summary:

The Toronto Lady Lynx continued their season on the road in Sudbury this evening, playing the Canadians. Toronto, under Head Coach Brett Mosen, hoped to continue the fine form that had brought them two wins in as many games, and first place in the W-League's Northern Division. Sudbury sat in 3rd, with a loss from their only game thus far. Brett Mosen had to field a much different side, as seven players were away at a U-18 Canadian National training camp in Texas. Players at the camp included: Amanda Ciccchini, Deana Everett, Nicole Mailloux, Natalie Martineau, Nicole Mercer, Loradana Riverso, and Robin Rushton. Toronto's last game ended in a victory at Centennial against the New York Magic, while Sudbury's last game was a loss at home to Vermont. Toronto had to endure tough conditions though 90 minutes in Sudbury, and the game seemed destined for a tie. The deadlock was broken in the 89th minute, when Catharine Marrosszeky found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Marrosszeky picked up a loose ball at the edge of the box, pushed past her marker, and chipped over the 'keeper with one minute left in the match. The scoreline remained as the full time whistle sounded. Head Coach Brett Mosen was full of praise for his squad. He spoke to lynxsoccer.com from Sudbury. "We had to endure poor conditions that didn't serve our style of play. We showed tremendous character through 90 minutes. The girls are delighted about their first win on the road." The Lady Lynx next play at home on June 5th against the Vermont Lady Voltage whom they defeated in their first match of the season.

Final Score: Sudbury 0 Toronto 1

Scorers: Marroszeky (unassisted) 89

The Toronto Lady Lynx' next game is at home against Vermont on June 5th, at 4:00 PM.
