DURHAM STORM, ST. CATHARINES PLAY TO A SCORELESS TIE

Durham Storm and St. Catharines Wolves played to a scoreless tie in the opening game of the season for both clubs at the Civic Stadium in Oshawa Friday.

The hard-fought encounter with few scoring opportunities and solid performances by goalkeepers Craig Williams in the Durham goal and Claudio Perri for St. Catharines prevented both teams from finding the net.

The Storm played with 10 men for the last 30 minutes after Paul Boyce was red-carded at 62 minutes. St. Catharines’ midfielder Mirnes Biscevic was the outstanding player in the game.

Durham Storm are visiting Hamilton on Saturday, a 7 p.m. game with the Thunder at Brian Timmis Stadium and the season’s second game for St. Catharines is at home on Wednesday, June 8 at 8.15 p.m
