Venue: Centennial Park Stadium

Attendance: 1,826

Kick off Time: 6:00 PM

Final Score: Montreal 2 Toronto 0

Match Summary: The Toronto Lynx returned to the friendly confines of Centennial Park Stadium to complete the back end of a home and home series with the unbeaten Montreal Impact. After falling to Montreal 4-1 on Friday night the team kicked off the Annual Girl Power pregame festivities with a mini-game featuring the under-8 girls from the Oakville Renegades and the Ajax Aeros/Shooting Stars. Other participants in the pregame included the Etobicoke Spectrum Baton Club, a special presentation to Laura Dixon, Jennifer Courneyea, and Tina Foreman of the OCAA Champion Durham College Lords, and our very own talented Lynx Dance Team. Despite 1,826 enthusiastic fans the Impact dominated play in the early going and 14 minutes in Mauro Biello found Freddy Commodore streaking down the right side of the box and he beat 'keeper Bryheem Hancock far side for the first goal of the match, 1-0 Montreal. The Lynx's best chance of the half came in the 38th minute when Jamie Dodds dropped a ball for John Barry Nusum and he unleashed a rocket headed just under the crossbar but 'keeper Greg Sutton extended the arms and punched the ball over the net. The Impact added to their lead in the 43rd minute when Leduc sent a lead pass between two Toronto defenders onto the foot of Freddy Commodore who chipped a shot just over Hancock and into the far right corner for a commanding 2-nil halftime lead. In search of some offence Head Coach Duncan Wilde made several substitutions in the 2nd half but the Impact defence remained steady while controlling the play in the midfield area. The Lynx could not generate a legitimate scoring chance in the second and fall to the Impact, 2-nil the final. With the loss the Lynx drop to 2-5-0 on the season. The Lynx are in action again on Sunday June 6 at 6:00pm against the Puerto Rico Islanders for Fiesta Latina Night at Centennial Park Stadium.
