TORONTO, ONT -- The Ottawa Fury rounded out their two game road trip this weekend with a 4-0 victory over the Toronto Inferno at Esther Shriner Stadium in Toronto Sunday.

The win, the Fury's seventh consecutive win of the season set a new club record.

The Fury dominated the game from start to finish and were full value for their 4-0 victory. The Inferno rarely troubled the Fury defence of Jenine Stangier, Erin Ramsay, Kat McShane and Allison Kelly. Leisha Alcia collected her sixth shutout in seven games and has conceded only two goals all season.

The Fury dominated the early going but squandered a number of good chances; Alfa shot wide after a McShane shot rebounded to her. Amy Vermuelen shot wide after good work by Parker. Both Ramsay and Kelly Parker missed with headers on crosses from Diana Matheson and Vermuelen respectively.

A goal was inevitable as Parker, Wilkinson, Matheson, Robinson and Vermuelen weaved intricate patterns of passing and movement across the park. Three goals in five minutes turned the Fury dominance into a winning advantage.

In the 34th minute Vermuelen fed Parker, who turned and beat two defenders before striking the ball past Anne Ogundele in the Toronto goal for her 11th goal of the season.

Three minutes later it was Vermuelen putting Parker through to square the ball back for Aisha Alfa to score.

Two minutes further on Matheson and Vermuelen pressured the Toronto defence into a mistake and Vermuelen made no mistake with a powerful shot.

The Inferno came close in the 40th minute when Heather Gallagher hit the bar and offside ruled out the ensuing rebound.

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first with the Fury creating far more chances and enjoying far more possession than the home side. Good work by Anne Ogundele in the Inferno goal kept the Fury at bay until the 90th minute when Diana Matheson wrapped up the scoring with a superb strike from a direct free kick.

The next home game for the Fury (7-0-0) is a top of the table North Central Division clash with the Montreal Xtreme (5-1-0) on Wednesday, June 23rd, Kick off 6 p.m. at Keith Harris Stadium, Carleton University.
