41 min...Vaughan RED card...Danny Sanna earns it for a kick on the thigh of HT Stalin Cardenas in the center circle as a ball bounced past and both were jumping for it. Cardenas needed to be helped from the field. Sanna needed to be helped from the field too as he looked like he hurt his foot from the impact of that kick. Referee Justin Tasev didn't have much choice on making that call because it was badly mistimed check attempt.

Attendance was about 150 on this warm evening with a blinding bright sun in the north west until the second half.
Shooters goalie Robert Scala earned the shutout and had to be sharp as the Thunder put many crosses into the box for the entire second half led by Jason Crnic and Miles O'Connor. Forwards for the Thunder were Sasa Milaimovic and Kevin Nelson. Thunder owner Italo Ferreira told me that he has former CPSL Ottawa Wizard player Kevin Nelson signed up to a two year contract.
Well this was a case of the Shooters hanging on but they did score on a counterattack to earn the victory. Joey Todaro was the Shooters lone forward in the second half. My second game today and one of the rare opportunities to see a ten man team beat an eleven man team. Twice in a day! Now I'm pretty sure that won't happen again.
