Wednesday May 7, 2003 at Etobicoke's Centennial Park after a scrimmage for the media.

RR--Alright so we'll get started. This is Nick Blicharski, midfielder, who's from the Kitchener area and the first time I saw him; and I didn't recognize him, he was playing for Wilfred Laurier last year as Nick Budalic was on that team and then on the Lynx and now Nick's [Blicharski] is going to step into his shoes. So how did you get started in soccer?

NB--I got started in soccer when I was young playing in Poland with my father and then we moved to Canada and I started playing here. And it's just been going well going house league to Rep to National team to Toronto Lynx.

RR--Yeah it says you played for Mississauga in the CPSL last year, did you get into any games?

NB--I got into a couple of games; not too many 'cause I played with the Polish Eagles in Kitchener and the National team.

RR--Yeah so who'd you do playing for the Under 17s and now you're in the Under 20 pool?

NB--Under 20 pool is going well. We had camps. Unfortunately the Youth World Cup was postponed because of the war. So it's going to take place in November/ December and I'm looking forward to that. The camps will be coming up so I'll get prepared for that and Toronto Lynx get me (hopefully prepared).

RR--OK now you were at Wilfred Laurier studying Economics I hear and you've got plans after that?

NB--Hopefully I'll play with the Lynx for the summer then play for Wilfred Laurier, go to the Youth World Cup and then after try to get to Europe. Before I was in Germany where I played for the Hertha Berlin youth team so hopefully I can get back.

RR--Now we're waiting for you to debut as you missed the Pittsburgh game I guess, but I'm sure you'll get your chance.

NB--I'm still young, whenever the chance comes whatever the coach deceides, I'll be ready. Hopefully I'll be able to perform the job I'm capable of and the coach will be looking for us and hopefully I'll get in some playing time.

RR--Ok well following in the footsteps of Nick Budalic thanks for the interview.

NB--Thank you.
