Match Summary: An injury depleted Toronto Lynx roster turned in a hard-nosed performance tonight in Rochester, battling to a 1-1 draw with the Raging Rhinos in Can-Am Cup play. Missing regulars Jan Veenhof, Josue Mayard, Robbie Aristodemo and Brian Ashton, the Lynx turned in a near perfect road performance playing solid defense and creating several scoring opportunities on the counter attack. The draw places the Lynx at 1-1-1 in Can-Am Cup play and leaves them tied a top the tournament standings with Rochester at 4 points, one ahead of the Montreal Impact. After an uneventful first half, Rochester opened the scoring when Kirk Wilson converted a goal off a scramble in front of the Lynx goal. The assist went to Viktor Paco. The Lynx refused to quit in front of 7,042 spectators at Frontier Field and were rewarded when Sebastian Barclay found himself open to slot home the equalizer in the 77th minute after Ryan Lucas had gotten the first touch on a Lynx corner kick. From that point, the Lynx began to take the game at the Rhinos with Ali Ngon creating several scoring opportunities, including what looked to be the game winner in the 83rd minute. Ngon broke in alone and slid the ball past Rhinos 'keeper Bill Andracki into the goal only to be denied by an offside call. Overtime failed to settle the match and the teams were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Lynx return to action at home on Sunday, June 15th when they take on the Syracuse Salty Dogs at Centennial Park Stadium at 4:00pm for their annual Father Appreciation Day.
