Match Summary: Coming off a successful start to their 3-game southern U.S. road trip with a 1-0 win over Virginia Beach on Monday, the Toronto Lynx looked to continue their winning ways in Charlotte tonight. The team came out flying in front of 483 fans at E.E. Wadell High, out shooting the Eagles 10-4 in the first half. The defense was airtight again and Lynx goalkeeper Theo Zagar, who returned to action after missing Monday's game due to suspension, was not forced to make a save until the second overtime period. The Lynx offense finally managed to crack the scoresheet in the 46th minute when midfielder Brian Ashton's hard low shot from the top corner of the 18-yard box beat Eagles 'keeper Dwayne Adams to the far post. The goal was assisted by Joe Mattacchione. That appeared to be all the offense the Lynx would need, but Eagles substitute Andy Hylton, seeing his first action of the season, replied in the final minute of play sending the game to overtime. Nothing was settled in the overtime periods and each team was forced to settle for 1 point. The Lynx wrap up there southern swing in Atlanta on Saturday, when they face the Silverbacks at 6:00 PM.
