TORONTO LYNX MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ATHLETIC MIDFIELDER ADDED TO LYNX ROSTER! April 24, 2003 (TORONTO, ON) — The Toronto Lynx are pleased to announce the signing of Montreal rookie Daniel Takhee, 23, who will make his professional debut this season. Takhee impressed Head Coach and General Manager, Peter Pinizzotto, with his passionate play and athleticism at the Lynx Open Trials in February and earned an invitation to training camp. Once he had his foot in the door, Takhee continued his strong play becoming the only player from the open trials to earn a spot on the Lynx roster. A midfielder, Takhee has spent the last two seasons competing for the La Salle Cosmos of the Senior Quebec Elite League (AAA). He has also played for Concordia University in Montreal in 2002; earned a provincial title and Most Valuable Player award in 1999 with Dawson College Quebec Cegep; and has been a member of team Quebec that competed in the 1998 U18 Canadian National Championships. With his enthusiasm and natural ability, Takhee, is one of the young Canadian-born stars the Lynx hope will push the veteran talent for playing time and give the roster the required depth for the grueling 28-game A-League schedule and allow the club to earn their first playoff birth since 2000. CAW PARTNERS WITH LYNX! The Lynx continue to grow the game of pro soccer as they go into their seventh season through the many community partnerships that they have established. This season, the Lynx are proud to announce a partnership with the Canadian Auto Workers Union which will allow disadvantaged youth to attend a Lynx match starting with the May 10th Home Opener when the Lynx take on the Montreal Impact. The CAW is committed to making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate and over the years has established many programs to accomplish this mission of which the Lynx partnership is an example. The CAW recognizes that soccer has become the number one participation sport in our country because of its universal appeal and affordability. They also recognize that the Lynx are making steady progress in bridging the gap between the amateur game and the professional side through the many community grassroots programs that the Lynx have established. The Lynx Corporate Care Program allows organizations to partner with the Lynx with the objective of developing and inspiring youth who are underprivileged. The CAW/Lynx partnership not only allows for dynamic promotional features but will also provide special rates for CAW members for attending Lynx matches and soccer camps that are delivered entirely by the Lynx players. -30- FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT: DAVID NUTT -- MEDIA RELATIONS, TORONTO
