Attendance was about 125 on this hot and humid evening. The game looked like the intersquad exhibition we watched a few weeks ago at this stadium as the Lady Phantoms had one of their cars break down and then towed which contained their uniforms so they wore the Inferno navys.
The Lady Phantoms didn't play like a good team and take their place as just better than Rochester Ravens in the standings. The first two goals caught the New Hampshire goalie out of position, a few yards off her line on the freekick and too far over to get both hands on the ball on the second goal. The roster lists her as a midfielder and neither regular goaltender was listed on tonight's list.
Anne-Marie Witko earned the shutout for the Inferno in not having a lot to do but looking confident in running out to gather up through balls and that gave a boost to the whole defense. Last week against Ottawa they stayed back to cover shaky goalie Anne Ogundele.
Inferno's Kim Warner was the fastest player on the field blasting by defenders but her shots were mostly off target. Heather Gallacher came on for the last 30 minutes of the game and took charge in runs up the middle.
Inferno's next game is 2:00pm Sunday afternoon at Birchmount Stadium against Long Island Lady Riders.
