Brampton Guardian: Hitmen Ready to Rock Against SARS
Hitmen ready to rock against SARS

The Brampton Hitmen are ready to rock....and rock.... and rock. The Candian Professional Soccer league team has accepted a challenge from solid Wood Chair and Table in Brampton to compete in a standoff this weekend to help raise funds to help cover costs from the cancelled game with Juventus last Sunday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Brampton Hitmen have been hit by SARS.

The Canadian Professional Soccer League team team was scheduled to play Juventus Primavera from Italy this past Father's Day. However, Juventus cancelled the match last week, due to a fear of SARS in Toronto.

Juventus are currently in the United States and are without game commitments to replace their two cancelled games with Brampton Hitmen and Hamilton Thunder. The cancellation of the game has cost the Brampton Hitmen roughly $38,000.

The Hitmen have spent an enormous amount of money to host this historic match and are now looking to fellow corporate/community involvement to help ease the current financial burden the club finds itself in.

Rocking chair challenge

The Solid Wood Bed & Table Co. has thrown its full support behind the Hitmen in their quest to replace a portion of the money lost due to SARS.

The staff at Solid Wood have challenged members of the Brampton Hitmen to see who can stay on the "World's Largest Rocking Chair" (which is located on Solid Wood Bed & Company premises) for the longest amount of time.

Solid Wood has said they would donate a sum of money to the Hitmen if any team member can out-sit them this weekend.

The Chair Off Stand Off will begin on Friday and end on the Sunday.

The Challenge will take place at the Solid Wood Bed & Table Co. located at 190 Highway 7 (Bovaird Drive).

The Brampton Hitmen are also launching their SARS Toonie Drive.

They are asking that the business community survey employees within their company to donate a Toonie to help us fight SARS in Brampton. The company that raises the largest sum of money will be rewarded a Family Company Day at a Hitmen home game of your choice.

What does the Free Family Company Day entail?

Your company/organization will receive:

(1) Tickets for all employees and family members to a Hitmen home game.

(2) Free advertising in the stadium. A four-foot by six-foot banner (which you provide) will be displayed for the remainder of the CPSL season.

(3) Your company/organization will appear in any press releases and/or media (ie. newspaper).

Should you have any questions/concerns or would like to make a pledge, instead of participating in the Hitmen's SARS Toonie Drive, please contact the Brampton Hitmen Professional Soccer Club at 905-790-0770 or by fax at 905-790-8586 or Solid Wood Bed & Table Co. at 905-452-9820 or by fax at 905-452-9842

Your help and support during this tumultuous time is greatly appreciated by the local CPSL club.
