Attendance was 1118. The second half was played while a hard rain fell. It had already rained earlier in the day so the field was quite slippery and the mud kicked up later.
This is the second win a row for the Lynx but this was played with much harder rain than Wednesday's game. Lynx earn four points for the win and one extra point for scoring three goals (which in the standings is as good as a tie).
The Storm only had two outfield players in their lineup tonight. I don't know if it was a budget or injury problem but I thought it might hurt them later in the game. The Storm forwards were fast and tried to outrun the Lynx defenders on longballs and sometimes that worked. Their defense is 2nd worst in the A-League and gave the Lynx enough chances to win.
Storm goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld came over to wave to the Toronto Ultra fans after the game. He couldn't be faulted on the goals as they were lightning fast.
The Lynx hadn't scored four goals in a game since 2000. This should be a confidence builder. Their next game is against Pittsburgh Riverhounds next Sunday.
Fans can see highlights of the game on Sportsnet Sportsdesk reports overnight as they had a camera recording the action.
