Result of the Monday September 9, 2002 CPSL game between Vaughan Sun Devils and Hamilton Thunder played at Dufferin Distric in Vaughan at 8:00pm. This was the first game in the two leg quarterfinal CPSL League Cup match between the two teams.

Attendance was about 60 fans on this hot evening with a smog alert still in effect. This game was only scheduled for the teams four days ago and I only heard about it last night. With school back in session, the crowd was all adults.
I expected the goals to pour in after seeing three within the first 20 minutes but the defences tightened up enough to prevent any more goals. Referee Danny Czetanovich had to zip out the caution cards to keep control of the game. These teams will play again Tuesday night in Hamilton to finish this two game aggregate.
I conducted an interview with Thunder goalie Dino Perri at halftime and that hopefully it will be printed in the October edition of "It's Called Futbol".
