Result of the CPSL game of Monday July 22nd, 2002 game between Toronto Supra and Toronto Croatia played at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke at 9:00pm. This was considered a League Cup game.

This was the first game of the two leg CPSL League Cup. (Remember, the game that was played July 12 must be replayed because it was stopped by a power failure that made the stadium lights inoperative). I can't see Toronto Supra recovering from tonight's fiasco! Winner of this series plays the winner of the York Region Shooters vs Mississauga Olympians bracket.
Attendance was about 80 and seemed to be pro-Toronto Croatian. The game was moved forward from Thursday July 25th to ease the congestion of all the unplayed games that Toronto Supra had postponed from the city worker's strike. I only received 24 hours notice so I don't know the news spread to the fans. The crowd had to put up with rain at different times of the game but with so few fans, they could crowd under the shelter of the large pressbox.
Rumours have it that this is definately Supra player Eddy Berdusco's last season. Ex A-League Toronto Lynx players Francisco Dos Santos and Waldo Sponton were ineffective.
Toronto Croatia George Azcurra earned the shutout and didn't have to make a tough save until the game was out of reach.
