Result of the CPSL game of Friday July 12th between Toronto Croatia and Toronto Supra played at Memorial Stadium in Streetsville at 8:00pm. This was considered a Cup game.

1st Half:...game starts 8:10pm...TC defend north end on this warm evening and the dry pock marked field...all times are converted from my wristwatch.
1 min...TC Fran freekick from 35 yard rolls than hits bump and hops up to goalie who bats it down and grabs in front of two TC forwards.
3 min...TC Peter Curic RED card...TS goalie Pedro Vieira charges out to slide and grab ball in box after TC Peter Curic runs into box, big crash between players and Curic flips over Vieira. Referee Colin Pintea gives Curic a RED card for kick at Vieira before he flipped over him.
6 min...Supra sub...Michael Silva replaces injured Pedro Vieira in goal.
10 min...TC Fran 40 yard freekick is palmed over net by goalie.
11 min...TC Seljan cornerkick from right is over box but corner conceded.
11 min...TC Kulis cornerkick from left is over box and is headed over end line by TC Seljan.
15 min...Supra Valdez injured in foot when TC Andrijevic checks ball off him. Freekick is called.
16 min...Supra Pascoal blasts 30 yard freekick from left well over bar.
18 min...Supra Sponton backheels pass on edge of TC box but defender prevents forward shot and earns freekick on whistle.
22 min...TS Sponton freekick from 25 yards on left is caught by diving goalie on right side of net.
25 min...TC goalie catches loose bounce in box.
26 min...TC Fran chips 40 yard freekick to goalie.
27 min...TC Seljan rushes to get ball on left wing but 30 yard shot from left is behind net.
31 min...Supra Sponton passes ahead to near edge of box for Supra player to shoot weak roller to goalie.
32 min...TC Dikic 30 yard freekick is low blast that's blocked by defender.
33 min...Toronto Croatia Josip Bucic GOAL...TC Domagoj Sain 45 yard freekick from right, TC Bucic scores on 10 yard header from left that he puts in right side of net.
35 min...About this time the stadium lights blow out. The effect on the field is minimal because it's still daylight.
36 min...TC Fran injured just before stepping into Supra box.
37 min...Toronto Croatia Josip Bucic GOAL...Bucic 25 yard freekick from left flies into top right corner of net.
40 min...Supra YELLOW card...Sponton for not giving 10 yards on a freekick.
41 min...TC Seljan freekick from 30 yards on right is blown down in box.
43 min...TC Seljan trips up Supra goalie when he runs to clear ball out of bounds but referee just warns both players.
45 min...TC Pilas(?) injured on sideline.
46 min...TC Kulis freekick from right from 30 yards is tipped by charging TC Bucic's body but goalie catches ball.
48 min...half ends 8:58pm.
2nd Half:...it's 9:14pm and dusky when this half starts. The Supra management argues with the officials about it being dangerous and too dark to play. (Someone gave the FIFA argument that if more than 75% of the game was completed before it was too dark to play, the result would stand). With that belief that's one of the reasons the Supra stalled around.
46 min...Toronto Supra Garvin Houston GOAL...Pedro Dias crosses from right from 35 yards and finds TS Francisco Santos on end line to left of net who heads ball back into play and Houston leans into 5 yard header into center of net.
47 min...TC Fran runs down left and pokes 15 yard shot wide left.
49 min...Supra Houston passes forward is put into TC net but play is blown down offside.
51 min...Referee calls the game for darkness. Now the belief was that someone from City of Mississauga would have the stadium lights turned back on but as the night continued to fall. The stadium announcer emplored people to stay. And time goes on....
Final Score:...(I don't know).....Toronto Croatia.......2.......Toronto Supra.......1........????

The crowd of about 125 to 150 gradually left when they realized the lights weren't coming back on.
I think the Supra had gained the momentum in the few minutes of the 2nd half that were played. They also had an offside goal called back. I noticed that only one team was complaining about it being dark!
So maybe the game won't count but it was a superb effort by Toronto Croatia playing one man down from the 5 minute mark. The CPSL League has enough games to reschedule because of the City of Toronto workers strike which blew out three Supra home games.
