Result of the CPSL game of Monday July 1st, 2002 between Mississauga Olympians and York Region Shooters played at Twin Arenas in Erin Mills at 3:00pm. This was considered a Cup game.

85 min...Shooters Robert Black GOAL...YS Toli Dasteridis freekick cross from 35 yards on left is headed in by Black from 5 yards on right beyond goalie Patrick Osunduba.
88 min...MO DeSerpa good run into YS territory but should have passed off.
89 min...MO Tilley passes ahead to MO Mason who's in alone and his 15 yard blast rolls wide left.
90 min...YS Jordan injured with bloody nose and he's ordered off the field but since there are no more subs allowed, YS plays short.

Attendance was about 60 people. It was extremely hot and sunny. The humidex reading made it like it was 45oC or (115oF). Referee Gord Arrowsmith called two water breaks at the 29 minute and 69 minute mark and officials eased up on the usual restrictions of tossing water bottles from the sideline.
Shooters started out stronger in the first 30 minutes but after that it was pretty even.
This was the first game of the teams two game Cup tournament. The winner of this moves on to play the winner of the Toronto Croatia--Toronto Supra bracket. The Shooters late goal may be important if the 'Away Goal' rule comes into play.
