1st Half:...game starts 8:35pm...Sun Devils defend north end on this warm humid evening with a wet field. All times are converted from my wristwatch.
5 min...OW Antoine races along right and cross from near right end line that defender concedes for cornerkick.
5 min...Wizards Danny Sanna GOAL...Partially cleared cornerkick is crossed back and forth around box until ball comes out to Sanna whose low 20 yard shot is through crowd of players finding left center of net.
8 min...OW Parmar squeezed in VSD box on run and can't get away shot.
9 min...VSD McDonald 40 yard freekick from right is headed out of box.
10 min...OW David 35 yard freekick is passed right of wall to OW Parmar who rolls cross into OW Some who slides shot wide right from 10 yards.
12 min...VSD Alva cross from right flag is caught by leaping goalie.
13 min...VSD Randhawa cross from right end line is well over net.
14 min...Sun Devils Gus Kouzmanis GOAL...Tommy Kouzmanis cornerkick from left that VSD forward headed back from right from 7 yards and Gus Kouzmanis blasts 5 yarder from left post into middle of net.
20 min...VSD Tommy Kouzmanis cornerkick from right is cleared.
21 min...OW YELLOW card...goalie Sa Brahina Traole. VSD Bobby Randhawa on break rushing for ball that gets away from him, Wizards goalie gives spikes up challenge on him as Randhawa slides to cross ball. Referee Domenic Rosetto gives goalie a card on play but every man in the crowd would probably have awarded an immediate red card (if they realized where the spikes-up injured!) VSD played shorthanded for six minutes until injured Randhawa was subbed.
23 min...VSD Gus Kouzmanis 20 yard freekick on right edge of box is blasted into wall, Gus rebound with other (left) foot is well wide left of goal.
25 min...VSD Turner tips OW player breaking in on right wing but it is Turner who is injured.
27 min...VSD sub...Pottinger replaces injured Randhawa.
28 min...OW Sanna blasts partially cleared OW freekick from 25 yards wide right of net.
31 min...VSD Tommy Kouzmanis cornerkick from right is headed down and cleared by OW player in box.
33 min...OW Nelson gets to long through ball ahead of VSD Alva but goalie slides out to make both feet save on 15 yard low shot.
36 min...OW Osman chests ball down on edge of box after cross from right, OW Some blasts 20 yard shot well over net.
39 min...OW Osman gets to ball on left and cross from left is caught by goalie.
40 min...Sun Devils Gus Kouzmanis GOAL...VSD Eke Chibueze low forward pass to Gus Kouzmanis on left, he gets time to slide 15 yard shot into low right corner of net beyond sliding goalie.
42 min...VSD Chibueze injured on edge of OW box.
43 min...VSD Tommy Kouzmanis freekick from right 20 yards, goalie palms it over bar.
44 min...VSD Tommy Kouzmanis cornerkick from right is cleared for fast break.
44 min...OW Parmar good break out run and he crosses ball after long run on left, OW Osman too far ahead and goalie slides out for save.
46 min...VSD goalie slides to edge of box to stop loose ball.
48 min...OW Osman lofts 15 yard shot from left onto top webbing of net.
48 min...half ends 9:23pm.
The Wizards don't go back to the dressing room at halftime.
