Halftime entertainment included Purolator donating a $10,500 cheque to the Daily Food Bank. The sprinklers were turned on to water the field. Carlsberg had drawn two pairs of fans to take throw-ins into garbage bins to win prizes.

Attendance was announced as 21583 on this warm late afternoon.

There were no boos from the crowd for Nick Garcia for the first time this year (this started from his giveaways against New England Revolution in the second game of the season). I'm not sure what the reaction will be before the next TFC game at the end of the month against Los Angeles. The sending off certainly changed the team's strategy expecting they'd have to survive over an hour with only ten players. It also ensured that Wizards Kei Kamara was booed by the fans the rest of the game.

Before this game started, I expected TFC would win this game. I felt that way against their Canadian Nutrilite opposition because they weren't MLS calibre teams but this was their first MLS opponent that gave me that feeling. Kansas City had not won in its last seven games before this one and TFC had won all their home games this year.

I got back to thinking they'd win, instead of just hanging on for the tie, after David Rocastle earned his second Yellow card at 56 minutes which evened out the manpower for the just over the last half hour of the game.

TFC now has a few weeks off while the MLS breaks for the World Cup first round games. A win today would have kept up the TFC momentum. With playoff changes this year of more wildcard teams instead of a guaranteed three from the East division making the post season, TFC have to finish at least second to earn a spot.

The Man of the Match who is always a TFC player was defender Dan Gargan.

After the game one side of the field was invaded by parents and children to kick the ball on breakfast cereal mascot Tony The Tiger. There had been a few announcements during the game to remind parents of this opportunity. No announcements were made about the TFC Academy game after the main game. Some of these players had impressed during the Nutrilite match against Vancouver Whitecaps so I felt deserved a mention. Instead about 60 people stayed for that game against the 'hated' Canadian rivals Montreal Impact Academy.
