The Toronto Lady Lynx secured their spot in the Central Conference Qualifier with a big 2-0 win over the Laval Cometes, late yesterday afternoon.

The scoring for the Lady Lynx started in the 12th with a fantastic volley from striker Carmelina Puopolo, off of a Kodee Williams corner kick. Just 13 minutes later, the Lady Lynx struck again, this time it was midfielder Alyscha Mottershead who with a beautiful header off of a Lexi Marton free kick, scored to make it 2-0.

That would be all the goal scoring in the game, however that didn't mean that there were no chances. Christabel Oduro had 3 glorious opportunities to really put the game away, as well as Tiffany Cameron, whose strike late in the first half just missed the far post. The Lady Lynx held Laval to just 4 shots towards the net, only one of which hit the target.

The second half did not see too many scoring chances from the Lady Lynx, however, Laval did pour on the pressure at many points in the second half. Nkem Ezurike of the Cometes was sent in alone on goalie Sabrina D'Angelo, only to put it just wide of the near post. Laval seemed to have all the chances, but only registered one shot on net, compared to the 6 that were fired at goal.

The Lady Lynx will now go on to the Central Conference Qualifier to play against the host Buffalo Flash at 5:30pm on Saturday at Niagara University, the winner, going on to face either the Ottawa Fury, or the Chicago Red Eleven, for the right to play in the League Final Four in Santa Clarita, California.
