Rochester, NY - On Sunday, the Rochester Ravens played the Toronto Lady Lynx tough but they couldn’t pull out the win. The Ravens defense kept the Lady Lynx in check for most of the game but Toronto squeaked ahead in the 73rd minute. As a result, they lost 1-0 in what could have been deemed one of their best games yet this season.
"We feel like we played a solid game yesterday," stated Captain Jacquie Lacek. "It is too bad that we couldn't pull out any points because it was such an encouraging performance. We now have over a week to prepare for Laval and it would be nice to get our first win in front of the home fans."
The Ravens were facing a Lady Lynx team that was seeking revenge. On May 30th, the Ravens went into Toronto and escaped with a tie after Chelsea Kuss's goal in the 94th minute. Kuss was subsequently named to the W-League Team of the Week after that game.
The Toronto Lady Lynx will come to Rochester for the first time this season on Friday, July 2nd. Last year Toronto came into Rochester and won, 4-0. Toronto ended up winning the season series last year with two wins.
