the teams. YRS goalie Carmine Benzi earned a Yellow card for his part in the incident. Cisternino's head was cut open and he is replaced immediately
by Aundrea Rollins. It took awhile for referee Justin Tasev to discuss with his line official exactly what happened. Travelling Lions fans
complained that if the officials didn't see it the referee shouldn't give out a Red card.

Attendance was about 90 on this warm evening with the sun in the north west which was a factor against the Shooters defending in the first half.
This was an amazing performance by the Lions who played the entire second half down a player. Forward Oswald Adu was left on his own up front but Judah Hernandez would take long runs up the right wing looking for passes played forward for him to run into. They had just as many chances as the Shooters in the second half.
Both teams had some second half chances that could have changed the result or put the game out of reach earlier. At 53 minutes, YRS Jason De Thomasis off-balance poked a ball from 15 yards that goalie Roy Blanche stopped the ball but just left it sitting there and YRS Luke Stedmond shot a 10 yarder up the middle that hit the right post of the open net. At 71 minutes YRS goalie Carmine Benzi also made a blooper by picking up a backpass at 15 yards. Lions Mohamed Karanouh received the tapped over freekick and blasted a ball over the eleven YRS players in the box but well over the net, football goalposts, end zone and the back fence into a homeowner's garden at least 50 yards away. One minute after that freekick, Oswald Adu rolled a cross from 25 yards on the right kicked a 12 yarder off the right post which a defender cleared the rebound. At 81 minutes YRS Julio Garcia took a cornerkick from right had Jason De Thomasis head a 6 yarder in the crowd of players wide left of the post.
The Lions with tonight's win grab a share of the 8th and final playoff spot with Montreal Impact Academy but have a game in hand. Their worry would have to be Toronto Croatia who are behind by five points but have five games in hand. Lions record is now 7-8-5 which is quite a comeback from their 0-6-1 start at the beginning of the season. Lions manager says he is missing some of his best players. Former league MVP Daniel Nascimento is serving a three game suspension for picking up a Red card.
The Shooters drop to fourth place after tonight because it was no secret that in an afternoon game Milltown FC beat Brantford Galaxy 6-0 to pull three points ahead of the Shooters.
