TFC ON TOP.....Milltown, Hamilton Croatia closing in with wins.....London's Youna Samra hits a hat-trick in losing cause

TFC Academy jump to the top of the standings with a 3-2 victory over Brantford Galaxy, Milltown FC are close by following a 2-0 shutout of Serbian White Eagles and FC Hamilton Croatia squeaked past London City 4-3, three games in the CSL Friday.

The consistent play of TFC Academy has produced results for some time now and for the first time this season the senior academy team of Toronto FC find themselves on top of the 13-team CSL First Division.

TFC forward Nicholas Lindsay opened the scoring in the game with Brantford Galaxy played at Lamport Stadium. The goal came following a breakaway at the 25th minute mark and Keven Aleman made it 2-0 at 45 minutes for a 2-0 TFC lead at half-time.

Forward Keith Makubuya increased the TFC lead to 3-0 at 62 minutes, but nine minutes later Brantford Galaxy's Miodrag Andjelkovic scored to reduce the academy team's lead to 3-1.

Galaxy midfielder Fazlagic Harris beat TFC 'keeper Angelo Cavalluzzo to make it 3-2 at 88 minutes and that score held until the final whistle.

TFC Academy jump on top with a 10-4-6 WLT record for 36 points, while the visiting Brantford side are now at 8-7-3 for 27 points.

Led by speedy Bahamian youth international Lesly St. Fleur with two goals, Milltown FC were full marks for the 2-0 defeat of Serbian White Eagles at Centennial Stadium.

St. Fleur struck his first at the 4th minute mark and pace also played a part in the second goal at 23 minutes when St. Fleur ran on to a through pass to lift the ball over the oncoming Serbian White Eagles 'keeper.

While Serbian Eagles had two close opportunities to score in the second half, the first by Shawn Brown who missed narrowly at 49 minutes and the second by Sasa Viciknez with a well-struck free kick, the 2-0 victory by Milltown was well deserved to hand the home team its second loss in as many games.

Milltown FC improve to 9-4-6 for 33 points to tie for third place with York Region Shooters, while Serbian White Eagles are now second with a still impressive 9-3-7 record for 33 points.

FC Hamilton Croatia traveled to Cove Road in London for a clash with the city and opened the scoring with a goal at just two minutes by defender Peter Tereanszki-Toth.

London forward Youna Samra equalized 5 minutes later to score his first goal of a hat-trick. Samra scored again to give the home side a 2-1 lead on a blistering shot from 40 yards that found the corner of the net out of reach of Hamilton Croatia goalkeeper Melford James.

Jerko Grubesic tied the game 2-2 for Hamilton Croatia at 30 minutes, Adam Leggett struck at 36 minutes for a 3-2 Hamilton lead and Domagoj Beslic made it 4-2 before Samra scored his third goal of the game at the 90th minute mark for London City.

FC Hamilton Croatia improve their season record to 9-6-5 for 32 points, up one position to fifth in the standings, while London City are at 3-11-5 record for 14 points.

There is one game in the CSL First Division on Saturday when Toronto Croatia visit Montreal for a game with the Impact Academy at the Saputo Stadium, a 1 pm kickoff. There are three games on Sunday.
