BRANTFORD GALAXY DEFEAT MONTREAL ACADEMY 1-0 SUNDAY ..... the academy team score 1-0 victory over Milltown Saturday while London City and TFC Academy tie 1-1

Brantford Galaxy nipped Montreal Impact Academy 1-0 Sunday to provide the Quebec team with a split in their two-game weekend swing just west of Toronto. On Saturday the academy team defeated Milltown 1-0 and the same day London City held TFC Academy to a 1-1 tie.

London City took a 1-0 lead on a goal by forward Youna Samra at the 18th minute mark in the game against TFC Academy at Lamport Stadium in Toronto's west-end and the score held up to the end of the first half.

TFC Academy pressed for an equalizer early in the second half and were rewarded with a goal by midfielder Kevan Aleman at 64 minutes. Aleman took a pass from Josh Janniere who moved past four players before passing to Aleman who beat London 'keeper Scott Mueller from close range, a 1-1 score at the final whistle.

TFC Academy is one of four teams with 29 points and tied for second spot in the standings, they have a 8-4-5 record, while London City are now at 3-8-5 for 14 points and still bidding to be one of the top eight teams to enter the playoffs.

It was a well-played encounter throughout at the Bishop Reding ground in Milton where Montreal Academy took an early 1-0 lead, a goal from which Milltown FC never recovered despite have several good opportunities to score.

Milltown FC are one of four teams tied for second place in the CSL standings, they have a 8-4-5 record for 29 points, while Montreal Impact Academy have a 6-8-5 record for 23 points.

It was an entertaining friendly match before 4,300 at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, BC, Friday night, Toronto Croatia took a 1-0 lead over Athletic Club of BC of the Fraser Valley Soccer League on a goal by Tihomir Maletic at the 10 minute mark. The score held until Athletic Club BC's Shay Spite struck an equalizer at 42 minutes with a volley to the left of Croatia goalkeeper Sandi Matika. The score was 1-1 at the break.

Chris Kyd scored for the home side at 55 minutes for a 2-1 BC lead and at 75 minutes Admir Salihovic made it 3-1.

Boris Tomac found the net for Toronto Croatia at 80 minutes to reduce the Athletic Club BC lead to 3-2 and the visitors came close to tying the game in the closing minutes with a drive by Hayden Fitzwilliams from 15 yards.
