TFC ACADEMY AND SERBIAN WHITE EAGLES BATTLE TO 1-1 TIE SATURDAY

TFC Academy and Serbian White Eagles fought to a 1-1 tie at Lamport Stadium in Toronto's west-end Saturday night, the only game played in the Canadian Soccer League.

Serbian White Eagles took a 1-0 lead at the 10 minute mark when TFC midfielder Matt Stinson headed the ball past his goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo for an own goal lead for the visitors.

Serbian Eagles had early opportunities to increase the lead, particularly striker Sasa Viciknez at 27 minutes, but the score remained 1-0 at half-time.

TFC Academy equalized at the 48th minute mark when forward Joshua Janniere collected the ball on a breakaway to close in and beat Serbian Eagles 'keeper Milos Kocic.

Both teams might have scored in the closing stages, but the 1-1 score held until the final whistle.

TFC Academy now have a 6-3-3 WLT record for 21 points, while Serbian White Eagles were unable to make progress up the standings and have a 4-1-3 record for 15 points.

TFC Academy are at home to Brantford Galaxy in their next game, that's at Brockton Stadium in Toronto on Saturday, July 24 at 7 pm, while Serbian White Eagles visit Brian Timmis Stadium in Hamilton
for a game with FC Hamilton Croatia the night before on July 23 at 9 pm.

Sunday's games in the CSL will see Brampton Lions at home to Toronto Croatia at Victoria Park, a 3 pm kickoff, while Brantford Galaxy and FC Hamilton Croatia clash at Lions Park in Brantford,
that at 7 pm.
