Attendance was about 125 on this mild evening that cooled rapidly after it got dark.
There could have been a lot more goals this game. At 70 minutes MFC *Range Hussein (corrected)* 10 yard shot from the right hit the right post and MFC Erick Olazabal's 12 yard rebound from the left had the goalie punch the bar forward and a defender cleared. At 91 minutes TC Braeden Krampert blasted a 12 yard shot down the middle and it hit the bar and TC Jonathan Bustamante followed up by shooting the rebound from 15 yards over the bar. Those were just the shots that actually hit the bar. Both teams could have down with more accurate shooting although both goalies and the surrounding defenders played well.
Referee Matt Arduini added six minutes of injury time to the second half to make up for the injuries that Milltown were suffering. Croatia fans were whistling and booing each delay feeling Milltown were stalling for time. The topper was at 66 minutes when Jesse Mahal and Agustin DeMedina were both injured for Milltown when they crashed into each other. So many were being injured with the temperature dropping I was wondering if they were cramping up. They only made one sub during the whole game. I asked Milltown co-owner Leno Terra after the game what was going on and he admitted they had a weak bench so they just left their starters in the whole game because of the quality drop-off. Also Milltown had played on Friday night and were tired from that game whereas Croatia had a full week to prepare.
I had never seen Milltown FC play before. They filled their roster with open tryouts rather than going the route of Brantford Galaxy which was to stock their team with imports. They have only played one home game so far but after next week they will get to play six weeks of home games in a row.
I don't recognize many of their players except for Agustin DeMedina who played last year with CSL Brampton Lions and Erick and Eros Olazabal (twin brothers) who played for TFC Academy butnot come to the team as overage players with the Academy policy of shedding players at the age of 19 (although the brothers are still 18).

here's some comments on the message boards I use from Milltown FC co-owner Dino Rossi.
Robin,
at 70 minutes, the player that hit the post was #8, Range Hussein, not Martijn Kuijpers.
Also, the reason our players were going down injured several times in the 2nd half is because a) the difficult schedule we have had to endure (2 weeks in a row of 2 games in 3 days) and b) the naturally physical style of play in the CSL. This resulted in a lot of our players suffering picking up a variety of knocks throughout the game. In fact, a number of our players were questionable prior to the game due to nagging injuries (hamstrings, groins, etc...). We actually brough 20 players to the field on Sunday because we were not sure until after warmup what our 18 man roster was going to be due to these injuries. The cold weather on Sunday night made it even worse. We are very lucky to have avoided major injuries.
We are very thankful that our schedule becomes more "normal" the next few weeks. Our players need to time to heal up and focus on their next game.
As for only making 1 sub, our team was playing very well, despite the nagging injuries, they were fighting hard as a team and Coach Carbajal
clearly felt that the group on the field deserved the opportunity to finish that game as intact as possible. We had 4 players on the bench that
have been starters for us this year so there is no massive quality drop from the starters to the bench. Coach Carbajal simply made a decision
to go to the mat with the lineup that got us a 1-0 lead over a very tough TC squad and which had been playing very well that night. That
was a character building game for our team.
