Attendance was announced as 10619. This was little more than half full. Most of the hardcore support for Canada was in the South stands in the end zone which is the same place as the Toronto FC Ultras and Red Patch Boys stand. On the other hand the North Stand was empty. The east and west stands had a mix of fans for both sides.

I got to watch the game from the press box. It has among the WORST seats in the stadium. I had press credentials but not a seat in the room but I found a spot where some media outlet didn't show up. I could see everything if I kept moving my head around a pillar in my way. The important thing is I wanted to make sure I got in to the press conference and record what the coaches and players said.

Canada started the game alright but couldn't score but in the second half Peru just turned off their offensive chances and had most of the chances themselves and scored two goals very close to one another.

Peru finished tenth (last) of the South American teams in World Cup qualifying. Canada failed to make the Top 6 hexagon in the Concacaf region in Word Cup qualifying. Peru is ranked 39th in the world and Canada has fallen to 101st by FIFA.

Toronto FC players Dwayne DeRosario, Julian de Guzman, and Nana Attakora added home town content for the Canadian squad and missed the TFC game in Dallas for which they lost 1-0. Nana Attakora was listed as a starter for Canada but didn't play at all. Head coach Stephen Hart said his listing was a mistake and didn't plan on him as a starter. (These three players were allowed to rejoin TFC and miss the Canadian game against Honduras in Montreal on Tuesday).
