Lynx announce stadium plans, TV Negoiations and hirings.

With all the hoopla surrounding the upcoming A - League Championship game this weekend in Rochester the Toronto Lynx have announced several key developments leading up to their third campaign.

As first reported in Canada Kicks several weeks ago the Lynx are now officially looking at tiny York University Stadium situated in North York.

According to Lynx officials: “the very good York University Stadium looks like the most likely venue.”  The Southern Ontario based A - League team has set a target of early November to make a final decision.  Toronto also announced on - going negotiations with CTV’s Sportsnet for television coverage next season.

Other announcements included the appointment of Nichole Hartrell (wife of part owner Bruno Hartrell) as Chief Operating Officer; Philip Griffiths as Director of marketing; the creation of the first Toronto Lynx Fan Club and a school soccer campaign aimed at elementary school youngsters in Southern Ontario classrooms.

The Lynx early start to their third kick at the can bodes well for their supporters in 1999.
