Rough Riders (1-2) their first win of the A-League
season, 1-0 over Northeast Division rivals the Toronto
Lynx (0-1) Saturday before 3,028 at Hofstra Stadium. The Rough Riders outshot Toronto 16-8,
forcing netminder Hubert Busby to make six saves. Long
Island's Manny Carou stopped three, including a hard,
point-blank attempt by Elvis Thomas that was punched over
the bar with three minutes left.
The Lynx played the final five
minutes a man down, after defender Peter Sarantopoulos
was ejected for a foul tackle.
