from Sports Report Service

GREENSBORO, NC--The Carolina Dynamo (11-8) won their fourth straight, and seventh in eight starts, Friday night, shutting out the slumping Toronto Lynx (10-7) 2-0 in front of 2,106 at A.J. Simeon Stadium.

Richard Sharpe won the game in the 22nd minute, on a breakaway with Kieran Breslin. Breslin beat his defender at the top of the box and dished off to Sharpe, who scored from six yards.

Yari Allnutt padded the lead in the 62nd minute, with a diving header from the far post. Khary Stockton started the play by working the ball down the left side, then crossing to Eddie Radwanski, who fed Allnutt.

The Lynx, who have dropped their last five, tried to some back in the second half, but Elvis Thomas sent two shots wide of the net, and a point-blank Terry St. Louis header went off the crossbar.
