I'll tell you the result of the Canada--Jamaica game for those who can't wait to see it on tv!
by Rocket Robin

Canada won the game today on a 53rd minute goal by Jim Brennan on his low 15 yard shot from left to the right corner. Final 1-0 Canada.

Pat Onstad was the Canadian goalie and helped them hold on in the 2nd half despite some missed balls in the box.

The play by Canada seemed to be a lot of longball and the Jamaicans looked just a bit more disciplined then back in 1994 (?) qualifying or the Caribana Cup but not much.

The game was delayed 30 minutes so the stadium could be crammed with more fans. Jamaican support was about 80% in my section anyway. I bought my ticket last night while at the Lynx game. 8000 people by tv news sports report at 11pm.

I didn't hear if the team lineups were read out over the PA. They seemed to be more anxious to warn people not to run onto the field. (didn't happen).

Evening two of my 5 nights in a row of soccer.
Tomorrow CPSL playoff between Toronto Olympians and St Catharines Roma Wolves.

Remember the Canada Jamaica game was played at 8:00pm eastern time and you're watching it on television after 11:30pm eastern time so don't bet on the game unless you get to back Canada 1-0 Jim Brennan scoring at 53 minutes (wink wink).
